Why was Our Area an Adirondack Stagecoach Center?

In 1886, the Lake Clear Lodge & Retreat began as a stagecoach inn, livery, post office, and trading post. Built by the Otis family, when Lake Clear was known as Otisville, our area became America’s first prominent nature-based tourist destination.

It was amazing, i needed the disconnect from everything and being so many months in quarantine the family needed fresh air and an escape, the dog even enjoyed it. This place is so beautiful, so peaceful, you feel much closer to God and all the wonderful nature He has created. The trails are so beautiful i could just imagine how pretty it looks with snow. Cathy is so welcoming and so is the rest of the family and staff. Lots to do on the property and surrounding areas, so many trails, lakes, rivers to explore. The cabins are clean and sanitized which was...
