Nearly every alcoholic beverage, from beer and wine to cocktails, is born from the botanicals of Mother Nature. Throughout much of history, they were as medicinal as an elixer, and their evolution not only became what we know today but also changed history. What better place to learn about the natural origins of ancient beers, spirits, and tonics than the Adirondacks?! Ride, sample, and taste through this rich history by viewing their natural roots on our nature trails and then stopping for the tasting stations as we flavor nature's “spirits” and foods.  From the use of pine tree resin to make and preserve wine to the botanicals of juniper, thyme, dandelions, honey, apples, and countless others, learn how their use and innovations made what we drink as well as critical ingredients of the foods we eat today. Think smoked salmon in a berry relish, apple strudel, and our honey bourbon Giggle Water!

• 1800s Stagecoach or Wagon Ride with Lucky Clover Farms as you meander through our nature trails with a unique “Nature’s Treasure Map” that will highlight the roots of our “spirits” and foods.
• You will be dropped off at one of the last remaining original Great Camps open to the public, built in 1886 as a Stagecoach inn.
• With your ticket, you will receive the special password to get through our hidden door to the 1920s Speakeasy–err–library.
• From there, your spirits and food trail continues with special tasting tables of historical brews, elixirs, and tonics. There will also be non-alcoholic beverages. Each table is themed, and some of the foods you sample will contain the key ingredients of these spirits.
• Family-owned since 1886, some recipes will take you back to the Old World, the Adirondack pioneering days, Prohibition, the Cure Cottage, and Grand Hotel eras.
• Adirondack “spirits guides,” self-directed interpretive material, and trivia set the flavor for a fun and interactive experience.

Adirondack Harvest Octoberfest

Join us for Authentic Stagecoach and Harvest Wagon rides through the nature trails to a spectacular fall sunset beach before being dropped off at the 1886 Main Lodge with 1920s Speakeasy Rathskeller. Savor a Harvest Octoberfest Dinner in our Stagecoach Dining Room.
