9th Annual St. Regis Fire Tower Lighting Celebration & Fundraiser

The Hohmeyer family, in partnership with the Friends of St. Regis Mountain Fire Tower, present the ninth annual fundraiser for the restoration and preservation of the historic fire tower on St. Regis Mountain.

Fire towers played an important and illustrious role in protecting the Adirondack Mountains. The Friends of St. Regis Mountain Fire Tower work with the State of New York to light up the tower once a year to commemorate this significance. They are a volunteer organization that has worked hard to rejuvenate this iconic landmark and make it accessible to the public.

5:00 PM: History of Octoberfest Beer Tasting & Workshop

Optional. Join Ernest Hohmeyer for a 30-minute workshop on the Myths and History of Octoberfest while you savor six (6) different imported craft beers from around the world. How did Octoberfest start? Was it always about beer? Add-on: $27 Per Person.

6:00 – 7:15 PM: Taste of Octoberfest Dinner

Savor a specially priced Octoberfest Dinner in our Lake View Great Camp or on the Lake View Patio, which offers a picturesque view of the sunset and St. Regis Mountain. Specialty selections from our hand-crafted wine & Beer Cellar will be available for purchase. Arrival times vary, please review available times when reserving.

7:30 PM: Special Musical Performance from Peggy Lynn

Just before the lighting, Peggy Lynn will be performing “St. Regis,” a song from her new album.

7:35 PM: An Artist's Story of the Mountain's Inspiration

With Carol Vossler.

7:45 PM: What's In The Night Sky?

Enjoy a special presentation from the Adirondack Sky Center & Observatory on objects visible in the night sky above St. Regis Mountain.

7:55 PM: Raffle Drawing

Purchase raffle tickets to enter for a chance to win fun prizes! All proceeds from the raffle go to the Friend's group.

8:15 PM: History of the St. Regis Mountain Fire Tower

Learn about the History and current preservation efforts of the St. Regis Mountain Fire Tower from a member of the Friends of Saint Regis Mountain Fire Tower Group.

8:30 PM: St. Regis Fire Tower Lighting

Volunteers, having carried various lighting equipment to the mountain summit, will light the tower from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The purpose is to draw attention to the historic role fire towers played in the protection of the community and the surrounding forest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I come for the lighting only?

No, only those guests who have reserved for the Taste of Octoberfest Dinner will be able to view the lighting from our beach.

What happens if it rains?

A rain date for the lighting, though hopefully unnecessary, is scheduled for Sunday, September 6th, 2026. In the event of rain, our festivities will still take place on Saturday and those guests will be given a ticket to come back on Sunday to view the lighting.

Sign-up is required; no tickets will be provided at the door at this time. Limited seating and tickets are available; reserve today. Details subject to change without notice. This event is a fundraiser, and ticket purchases help us donate to this volunteer organization.
